However, in the scenes following immediately after his clothes are spotless. Crazy Credits As the end credits scroll, the Nerd finally reviews Eee Tee for the Atari in front of thousands of people, and though he still says it is a bad game, his final verdict is that it is cryptic and challenging as well as addicting and he respects that it holds a place in people's hearts.
The flying saucer then speeds away. Alternate Versions The end credit sequence, along with a scene of the Nerd being transported down from the spaceship, was re-edited, using real footage from the E.
In the movie, due to copyright claims, the game is called Eee Tee. All gameplay of games shown in the film is recreated animated graphics, made to resemble the original games.
Actual gameplay for the E. In the Movie a sequel to Eee Tee, titled Eee Tee 2, makes an appearance and is comprised of 3D animated graphics, emulating the original video game.
Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Report this. Q: When and where was the film shot? Q: When will the film be released on home media?
Looking forward to new episodes, and seeing this pop up as a sort of weird cultish indie movie in the coming decades… and of course, the bonus features in the near future!
Congrats James and Co. Hope you make lots of money for all your hard work and sacrifices, love the movie!! I have never been so excited to watch the credits of a movie my entire life.
For almost seven years I have watched the episodes for free. I have no problem paying for the movie now. Greetings from Germany. Hello Mr.
This is the first time I register an account and post a comment — ever. Not even on Youtube. Shame on me. Me to. Was okay. The beginning was good,I thought the some ofthe movie dragged on.
I thought the review was more of James doing the review,Than avgn. Also kinda short. I was surprised that avgn and Mandy didnt hook up.
Yet I do agree it should prob be watched with a group not just a lonely kid on his computer lol. What was your favorite scenes?
I would of preferred Mike Matei as the sidekick,I was hoping during the road trip,That they be playing games.
Maybe in the bluray. Downloading now. Looking forward to watching it tonight with my brothers! James and everybody involved: You have done it!
Congrats to all! Now I will retire to my sitting area, where a beer bottle will be deprived of its contents, as I will behold your master piece my dear sir!
Hope you make it PAL-version or region free as well! And I do really, really want to pay for this movie! And today fans who missed their chances at a theatrical screening were given the chance to get the digital release of this film.
So did it live up to five years of anticipation? Yeah it kinda did. I mean, I tried to keep my expectations at a minimum considering that this was an incredibly low budget film and was very much a celebration of those old rubber suit monster movies.
And in that regard, it succeeded in being absolutely insane. The miniatures were often incredibly obvious especially the vehicles and that was all part of the fun.
And James Rolfe, of course, is killer as the Nerd, continuing to give the quality of entertainment we the fans have come to expect from the Angry Video Game Nerd.
He created this character and embodies him as a man who really has been doing this for years. His frustration at the entirely psychotic situation the poor Nerd finds himself in is just such fun to watch and the ending is a wonderful high note.
The supporting cast, for the most part, are equally good. And yes, he is as silly as his name suggests. Helena Barrett and Jeremy Suarez get great laughs as Sergeant McButter and Cooper respectively while Sarah Glendening as the leading lady is a good character, especially in her scenes with the Nerd, but her final fight with McButter was a bit disappointing though the reference to Ninja Turtles 3 at the end of it was hilarious, but needed explaining within the film for those who were not in on the joke.
But is this a movie that will service for an introduction to the Angry Video Game Nerd? This movie is undoubtedly for the fans of the Nerd. This is a film for the kind of people who would have joined the Nerd in the desert at a landfill to celebrate an absolutely godawful video game.
And in that regard, this is an unparalleled success. Rolfe has created the great fanservice, not only by making a movie but by reviewing ET the video game in that movie.
Then watch it the way I watched it: as a fan. But for me? High recommendation for Nerd fans and for those who are not? James, I wish you would sometime make an appearance somewhere in Maryland where I live,I want to meet you and Mike so bad and possibly maybe get an autograph.
You are such a great Film maker! Also, Cannot wait until the new Monster Madness. So stoked for that as well. Congrats on the movie James I really enjoyed it and the work you put into it really paid off.
Just saw the movie, bought it, not just rented it, it was honestly the funniest movie I have ever seen, good work James.
I actually made an account on here just to make this comment. To all those complaining this is a pay to watch movie: Stop.
James and all the cast and crew have been working on this movie for two years, they earned the right to charge people to watch it.
James is actually partially the reason I collect games, or at least collect them as hardcore as I do.
You can count on me to purchase the DVD when it comes out! Actually they worked on it for three years. Four if you count pre-production.
And eight if you count the writing process. James, you should be extremely proud of yourself. All your hard work shined through.
Your movie was absolutely wonderful. I felt like I was literally taken back to the s with this flick. Everyone did a great job. Five star rating all around, James!
James and Co. From the awesome soundtrack over the opening credits, it was clear the movie was going to kick ass. The clever take on the Atari landfill myth is one of my favorite aspects of the film.
How did you come up with that?! You should distribute it on gog. I can look past the awful acting and FX, but man, that story was all over the place.
Maybe you should have hired an editor for the screenplay. Okay, watched the movie with my brother and…I enjoyed it for what it was.
There were a lot of deliberate quirks and easter eggs everywhere that the fans will love finding and seeing. I loved the movie because it was completely quirky and silly from start to finish and had a lot of in-jokes that made me laugh.
Thank you for making this movie, James. Great job man. As someone who has tried and failed to do exactly that, I know how immensely difficult it is and how maddening the desire to pull it off can be.
Nicely done, James. This is the first time that I ever really thought about how much time and effort it takes to accomplish even the littlest things when making a film.
What took less than two hours to watch took many people many years craft. I loved the big monster not even gonna attempt to spell it , the E. This was fantastic.
I was not disappointed. Thank you James, Mike, and everyone else. Have you considered VHX? Many great independent films have been released through there and have been very very successful.
I enjoyed watching the film; many of these reviews are spot on. It has been such a blast to follow James to this point in his life.
I adore the nerd and I adore the person within. I hope he finally gets to sit down with his Family and take time to breathe in all the success in his life.
Congratulations James! Thank you for all the hard work and amazing craftsman ship you have put into this web-series and film.
Are you trying to make the movie look bad? We funded the movie and we sill have to pay for it? At least the backers should get a free Rent code.
I was hoping it was going to come out in theaters. I was prepared to buy tickets when it came out. But I guess renting it online is okay too.
Loved the movie! Some of my highlights were the various cameos by Nostalgia Critic, Lloyd Kaufman, and the Cinemassacre crew. The special effects were really fun to watch.
The funniest part had to be the part with the power pad. The plot was a bit convoluted but overall it was a really enjoyable movie. Also, fun fact: At the 60 minute mark you can see a world war 2 book in thwe background behind the TV.
I also have that book, haha. Just finished watching the movie… Absolutely incredible piece of work, I can only imagine the dedication and hard work it must have taken to take on something of this scale and ambition.
Looking forward to the Blu Ray release. Just bought my Vimeo version. Going to make the wife watch it with me now!
Congratulations, James! You deserve every success that comes with this. Paid and watched. Considering all the work that has been done I was surprised by the low price, so I bought also the poster.
I downloaded the movie on Vimeo. Transferred it to an NTFS formatted flash drive. Converted it to Commodore 64 machine language and then injected it into my veins.
I am not going to sign up to vimeo just because I want to see the movie. A bargain! Great Job and congratulations! I laughed several times during the movie.
Thanks for all you do… looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the nerd. Great job James, congratulations for the movie!
We waited a long time for this and totaly worth it! Keep the good work! Thank you from Ireland! Hey James, thank you for this release!
Now consider also distributing through GOG. I believe it would benefit you as well as our newborn movie catalog. It is a place full of retrogamers after all!
Watched it again today with my girlfriend. You made a great movie, James. Anyone who is being negative, or whining about paying for the movie, should be ignored.
You did a great job, and I cannot wait to support your next project. Shut out any and all constructive criticism and only accept blind praise.
Purchased day one, just watched it …. Great movie i have to say. You have completed a great movie!. You made history guys … first real and great video game fiction made by gamers, for gamers.
Absolutely amazing movie. Congrats to the whole team. I will buy the blu-ray day 1. Run for it Marty! Amazing, the movies itself was amazing and hilarous, but the ending gave me goosebumps.
Long time fan here. Just finished the movie, and unfortunately it sucked pretty bad. The editing was very poor. Starting a film off with too much exposition is a death sentence.
I also felt the casting was weak and SJW inspired. I would have liked the movie better with Mike and Badluck Bootsy instead of token black guy and grrrl gamer.
The interractial kiss at the end came out of nowhere and felt very forced and again, pandering to SJWS. Typically the hero gets the girl at the end, not the comic relief sidekick.
The highlight of the film was easily the General. I enjoyed his scenes and I found him to be genuinely funny. I actually would have preferred a movie about just the general and McButters.
In summary, next time please hire another editor James. Easily 40 minutes could have been trimmed from this.
It ended up feeling bloated and somewhat disjointed. I enjoyed the movie, the live screening probably added a better experience to me, but I also feel like outside forces were influencing James in this movie.
That kiss at the end just felt awkward and forced, especially to the whole theatre who had been clapping and cheering the whole movie.
She sounds like a very nice person, and seeing this commenter blaming her for the movie just made me so angry. Not to anger anyone, but its unrealistic to think the movie should be free.
James never once indicated that he was making the movie for nothing. While the fans did indeed finance the movie, the purpose was only ever for him to have creative control over his own idea.
Would be nice if it was free, however, more than reasonable to sell his own creation. It gets eaten up very quickly, my friend.
It should have been shorter. And the E. The part with the two girls was boring. And when the monster catched the van and Cooper it reminded me of the scene in Return to OZ when the gnome king catches Jack.
A worthless waste of a comment if you ask me. I really want to see this movie especially since I donated money for its production. This movie is awesome, thank you for all your hard work.
I just bought it. I am planning on getting the game this weekend and maybe order me the DVD complete set. Just watched the movie. Loved it. Exceeded my expectations, which were already pretty high.
There were a lot of moments I laughed out loud and clapped. The Mike cameo made me wish he was cast as your neighborhood friend, but all the actors did a great job I thought.
I dont wanna be mean, but as for comedy it wasnt too funny. I just wanna remind that Clerks budget was 10 times smaller. Even the stylized glasses small detail made the nerd look like a different character in my mind, in a bad way.
Also, I think the movie would benefit from a better edit, in my opinion. Next time keep it simple. At 10 bucks you are getting a deal, I saw this movie, bought it the day it came out and it is the funniest movie I have ever seen.
Um…how many movies have you actually seen? You found this funnier than Caddyshack? Dumb and Dumber?
Blazing Saddles? Christmas Vacation? Awesome James! So worth the wait! I find it funny that the co-star is the kid from The Bernie Mac Show lol. Everyone involved did a great job and it looks like all of the actors had a great time.
You sold out theaters across the US and beyond and the reviews so far have been awesome. Congrats to you and to everyone involved.
I think the movie version of the Angry Nerd is not the same as the web episodes of the angry nerd.
James i could be wrong but please tell me the the movie is not in the Shared universe as the web episodes. This way the web episode Nerd never reviewed ET game and the movie was its own timeline.
Rolfe, I have been watching your videos for years, but just now registered for an account to congratulate you on the movie!
Just bought the movie!!!! I am so excited to watch it. Conglaturation James! I am glad I can make my contribution to your hard work! Keep it up!! I watched the movie online.
It probably would be a very different experience viewing it with a bunch of AVGN fans in a movie theater. After seeing the movie and knowing the amount of the time spent on putting it together, I think it is a tremendous accomplishment for James.
He did a great job with the limited filming time, budget, and resources he had to work with. As far as the movie goes, there were many things to further critique.
I felt the run time of the movie was at least a half hour too long, and I never was immersed into the movie. The acting was somewhat mixed.
Sometimes, it just felt like the actors were reading lines rather than acting out the scenes. I thought Stephen Mendel did the best acting job out of all of the actors in the movie, and he was the only one who said anything in the film that I actually laughed at.
There were some special effects near the end of the movie that really looked movie studio-quality. I doubt people who never heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd before watching the movie would enjoy it, and I would only recommend it to people who were fans of the Angry Video Game Nerd.
I rate the movie 2 out of 4 stars. I really like the movie, James. You and your people did amazing work, so all of you should be proud.
They were great in the episodes, but not so great when recycled. And, my favorite part was toward the end when the Eee Tee carts started to fly away, and those two dudes who totally came off as stoners just started laughing.
It flew out the fucking window. Mandi and McButter are so hot. Lets just get that out of the way. Amazing film and tribute to the Nerd.
Thank you for making this excellent movie that will live on forever. Thank you for the incredible entertaining flick. I would buy the whole package on the spot, in fact I am waiting for such a thing, cause the delivery-fees to Germany are expensive.
Awesome movie, have watched it several times now and it just gets better! Looking forward to the DVD-pak with all the extra stuff, will buy instantly when available.
I Watched it 3 times. I would like to give my own personal view on the movie and your career as the nerd.
I live in the uk, I think it was i was about 22 years old my miss was out on the town, I was bored havin a beer and was browsing youtube, i came across your tmnt nes review.
I have been a fan from then. Any way enough of that, your videos over the years have been very good. I like it when you go over board i.
My all time best is bugs. Now the movie hats off to you very very very well done mission accomplised!. Instead of wham atari logo or black screen music slowing bulding up.
The green screen really stood out. Some of your quick 10mins video were much better! Im trying not to say bad things cuz i think what you do is great and i get your work but i think the eee tee thing was winged too much.
I will still look you up on you tube once a week big fan x. HEy, just watched the movie. ITs pretty fun. I still prefer the classic AVGN, but the movie was entrataining.
Just downloading the shit! It was a great idea, that you put it on Vimeo, because now foreign countries also get the chance to watch it.
Greetings from Germany! Congratulations, you can be proud of yourself! The movie is awesome, and I had a great time watching it! AVGN rules! This is it, the Nerd at his finest.
I just watched it last night. Great plot, great acting. Just saw the movie and good great fun it was! That Glendening girl is hot as hell too thats nice!
Main critisism is that Nostalgia critic had a way to big part of the movie, he should have been cut down because he almost ruined the movie for me.
Very ugly and talantless man. That guy annoys the piss out of me too, but I despite myself his girl squeal made me laugh.
I have failed my convictions. Awesome movie! I watched this with friends while drinking Rolling Rock beer and we laughed our asses off! You dumb cunt, why would he?
Idiots like you will watch it illegally anyways. Let the man earn some damn money on his living you greedy wanker. Will he? Likely not, but it would be awesome.
Just wanted to say i enjoyed the movie! That scene is so totally over the top and full on crazy, love it.
Also, the scene with Kid Nerd is totally awesome. James, I just want to congratulate you on finally getting the film finished and available to all the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the release of The Angry Video Game Nerd movie.
Thankfully, it was definitely worth the wait, and then some. I absolutely adored the movie from start to finish. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, and cheers to continued success to you as a filmmaker in the future.
It was really good! Favorite scenes were the nightmare scene, hospital part, the car chase, and the part with the games turning into the spaceship.
Awesome to finally see, been a long ride. Well Done. Great movie, James! Congratulations on making your dream a reality.
I will buy this movie on DVD when it comes out. Congrats on getting it out. Hope this opens more doors for you and just means more nerd stuff in general.
Click on my profile name to go to my webpage, I customize and repair NES and all other video game systems. I donated early on for this movie.
So he got people to pay for him to make a movie, and now asks those same people to then pay him so they can watch it. Well, I finally got around to buying it, and though there were some cheap effects with some of the models, this….
And a very interesting plot twist at that. James, why are you having your movie donators pay to watch the movie? Are you serious? A hell of a lot of crowd-funded film projects have premiered theatrically and actually been sold.
