If attending a major event, like the Highland Games, be prepared for parking away from the event and dealing with very large crowds.

However, the shuttle buses that were used for the Games worked great and saved a lot of gas and frustration. The area is great for couples or families.

There are plenty of beaches to visit, the views are beautiful and there are lots of places to eat, get a cocktail, etc. Our favorite restaurant is the Laconia Local Eatery - delicious food and cocktails!

The Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion is minutes away and is a lovely place to see a concert. We've been to Weir's Beach two years in a row and are planning to make it an annual trip.

It is within 5 minutes of many great hiking trails, and 15 minutes from the Cannon Mountain Tram which I highly recommend! The views from the top of Cannon Mountain are truly breathtaking.

The scenic Kangamangus Highway is right there as well! There are many great local restaurants and ice cream shops close by.
