There is a complete movie here, but in the end it is quite juvenile despite pretending to be mature and adult. One star for telling a whole story with a moral about dancing with the one who brought you in the end.

That caps it as the rest is stale. So for a movie about sexuality in relationships, The Overnight talks a lot, builds up some potential, and then fails to deliver.

I kept watching that the next corner would let is step into something rewarding for having to put up with really awkward penis jokes just like in junior high school.

Sadly, The Overnight does not deliver and brings me back to the old adage that those who talk or brag the most, especially about sex, are probably getting the least.

One person found this helpful. Typical Duplass brothers mumblecore film. If you've seen their HBO series 'Togetherness' then you're already familiar with their themes: infidelity, awkward sexual situations, young professionals with kids who are in 'rocky' relationships.

Having said this, if you dig what Mark and Jay are laying down then you'll enjoy 'The Overnight. Judith Godreche was great but wasn't cast well as the wife of Schwartzman's character.

Taylor Schilling was serviceable. There are some surprising plot twists and some laugh out loud moments but ultimately an slightly above average indie film.

It is so weird and funny and strange and overall one of our favorites. What a strange movie. Movies today want to shock you and this is one of those.

It isn't funny. A light movie with a lot of heaviness thrown in,too. The characters are all lovable.

Four adults with two little boys. When Jason plays a lullaby on the piano, the children fall asleep. This took a little bit to get into, but ultimately was an intriguing actor's movie of four characters over the course of a night.

Discovering everyone's motivations and navigating their desires is both funny and awkward. Worth checking out if you ever wondered what group sex would be like- this is not pornographic at all- it is more about the idea of group sex and why it is difficult to make happen.
